Redesigned and Improved MAS-1

With your RTI Piranha or Barracuda, it is possible to measure kVp, time, dose, dose rate, HVL, Total Filtration, mA, and mAs simultaneously by adding either the invasive MAS-1 or non-invasive MAS-2 mA probes.
The newly redesigned MAS-1 it not only more compact and smoother, it also has longer rechargeable batteries (up to 100 hours life time). MAS-1 connects to your RTI meter and then to the test mAs socket of the X-ray generator, providing invasive mA and mAs measurements. Range is 0.1 to 3000 mA.

RTI Electronics is looking forward to being part of the 52nd Annual AAPM in Philadelphia, Pennsyl-vania during July 18-21. RTI's display 756 will feature some of the most exciting X-ray QA products. ISO/IEC 17025:2005 - "General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories".

As an important step to constantly improve our work and always be able to guarantee high quality instruments and reliable calibrations, RTI are now proud owners of accredited light-, and x-ray laboratories as well as accredited calibrations of current and charge.

This is one further step in the RTI Quality Program and it will assure us, and our clients, that we live up to the expectations and demands that our customers and we have.

This accreditation is a guarantee that our assignment is carried out impartially, fairly and based on internationally accepted standards. It provides third-party assurance that we have the quality management system to ensure all of our calibrations to be consistently of the highest quality.

As accredited calibration laboratory, our quality management system is reviewed and approved by SWEDAC*, the same authority that reviews and approves the ISO 9000 certification bodies.
Our equipment, personnel and methods have been independently reviewed and approved by the technical officers and assessors from SWEDAC to fulfill the requirements needed to be able to perform correct measurements with a guaranteed traceability.
An accreditation has focus on guaranteeing products to measure correctly.
We can guarantee the highest level and relevance and credibility for our calibration certificates.
And as an accredited laboratory we will regularly be reviewed to ensure that skills are maintained.

*) SWEDAC (Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment) is the national accreditation body in Sweden. It is a government authority under the Ministry for Foreign Affairs as well as the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications. SWEDAC is also the government authority that approves all the ISO 9000 certification bodies.

On display this year: T-20 Detector, CT Dose Profiler and Ocean

The T20 Detector. The RTI T20 is a solid state detector that allows the user to measure entrance skin dose on Rad and Fluoro systems and leave the X-ray system's output undisturbed. You will like the design and be amazed at how the RTI T-20 solid state detector compares to measurements made with a 60cc ion chamber.The T20 works with either the RTI Piranha or Barracuda multi-meter.

The CT Profiler. The RTI CT Profiler is solid state detector for use with the Piranha and Barracuda. The CT Dose Profiler has taken CT Quality Assurance to the next level. Using a "One Shot" method with the solid state technology of the CT Dose Profiler, the user is provided a complete Dose Profile along with a quicker and more complete analysis of the CT beam for any size fan beam width, including CTDI, Dose, DLP, CTDI100, FWHM, CTDIvol, CTDIw, and Scatter Index. Its design makes it ideal for positioning in both 130 and 150 mm phantoms.

Ocean X-ray QA Software. Ocean is the newest X-ray QA software for use with RTI's Piranha and Barracuda. Automation of test protocols, PMs, and custom design of user sessions are all part of the package. You can include PDFs, photos, and other instructional tools as part the test sessions. Important Solid State Detector Accessories by RTI Electronics

If you own an RTI Piranha or Barracuda multi-meter, you may want to consider adding two special solid state detectors specially developed by RTI Electronics.

The most recent is the T20 (Translucent Detector), ideal for measurements on Rad/Fluoro systems when the detector does not affect the system output or disturb the AEC system. Typically, measurements of this kind had to be performed with an ion chamber. The adverse effects caused by the density of the size, density and design of the solid state detectors made it impossible to get good results when placed in the center of the beam.

However, the unique design of the T20 with a detector area of 20mm2 , this makes it small enough to not adversely affect the X-ray system or AEC. Primary applications for the T20 include patient entrance dose and maximum dose rate.

The second solid-state detector for your consider-ation is the RTI CT Dose Profiler. Designed for CT Quality Assurance, the second generation CT Dose Profiler can measure or evaluate several important parameters such as CT Dose Profile, CTDI100, CTDIw, CDTIvol, DLP, FWHM, Scatter Index and Geometric Efficiency.

The CT Dose Profiler comes with CT Dose Profile Analyzer PC software. Only one exposure is needed to measure and calculate CTDI100, CTDIw, CTDIvol, DLP, FWHM and Scatter index. The software permits measured data to be saved and re-opened for later reviewing. Data can also be printed or exported to Microsoft Excel for further analysis.
