RTI just completed the four-day technical exhibition, July 26-30, at the 51st AAPM in Anaheim, California. Over 3900 attendees visited the annual gathering of the Association of American Physicists in Medicine. Many of those in attendance are involved in diagnostic X-ray QA and service, providing an opportunity for vendors to show products related to the fields of diagnostic physics and imaging.
At RTI's display, there was considerable interest in the CT Dose Profiler, RTI's second generation solid state solution to measuring CT dose, CT dose profile, and CTDI. Of course, the compact multi-function Piranha QA test meters and the flag ship Barracuda continued to impress with capabilities, dependability and flexibility.
The AAPM was also a great occasion for RTI representatives to visit with customers to answer questions, respond to concerns, and receive feed-back and suggestions. It also provided time to give users updates on existing products and provide all visitors to the display information about the new and exciting developments from RTI Electronics.
While overall attendance to the exhibit was down slightly, due to the slow economy, the number of visitors to the RTI display saw an increase from last year.
